Cabinetry Refinishing

Your Process:

  • Fill out the form at the link provided.  Once we receive it, we will call you to review your answers and to answer any additional questions/concerns you may have.  (This is not a formal agreement!  This is a way for us to gather information about your project, so that we can have more specific information for you when we talk/meet.)

  • If you are ready to move forward, we will send a formal contract to you via Google Docs for your review.  Once you have reviewed and signed, we will send you an invoice for 50% of the total amount.  You may pay either by cash or credit card.

  • We will schedule a time to pick up the doors and drawer fronts.  Once we have taken those, you will want to box up the contents of your cabinets by the time we return to work on the box frames and exposed cabinet sides.  Then, the contents will be projected from any stray paint or dust.

Our Process:

  • Remove all of the doors and drawer fronts (and label their positions)

  • Remove all hinges and hardware

  • Clean with denatured alcohol

  • Fill any hardware holes or damaged areas

  • Sand

  • Tack off dust

  • Spray all of the doors and drawer fronts with primer

  • Scuff sand

  • Tack off dust

  • Spray all of the doors and hinges with a second coat of primer

  • Spray with first coat of desired finish

  • Spray with second coat of desired finish

  • Repeat the prep process on the face frames and the exposed cabinet sides

  • Paint first coat of primer

  • Scuff sand

  • Paint second coat of primer

  • Paint first coat of desired finish

  • Paint second coat of desired finish

  • Allow everything to cure properly

  • Clean hinges and hardware or replace

  • Put all of the doors and drawer fronts back in place
